The vision and backbone of Independent Investment Advisors is its Founder and CEO Ryan Donelson, who brings over 15 year of hard-fought experience in the bond industry for clients of Bank of America, Cantor Fitzgerald, Raymond James, Southwest Securities, and others.
Ryan has been in the trenches, competing against 60 to 80 brokers for the same account—and winning. He brings the highest product expertise including mortgage bonds, treasury bonds, municipal bonds, agency bonds, corporate bonds, and asset backed securities.
In 2012, while running on Austin’s Town Lake Trail, Ryan was reflecting on where his values and career intersected. He knew he wanted to bring his extensive commercial-scale expertise together with his firm belief in the importance of independent investing—impartial financial management without favoritism or quota requirements to any specific investment product. Independent Investment Advisors was started as Ryan’s commitment to focus 100% on clients’ goals—not those of sponsors and other third-party interests.
Community is Ryan’s cornerstone value. Since earning his B.B.A in Finance from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, his career and family life with his wife and identical twin girls has been centered in the Austin region. Ryan believes that investing in bonds is an ideal way for investors to stay connected to heart of their community’s infrastructure including its schools, roads, bridges, and hospitals.
